On Campus: Grad Season Means Hiring Season

The April jobs report reflected economic strength and continued good news in hiring trends. Over the next eight weeks, thousands of college graduates will enter the job pool in that hot market.

The Bloomberg summary of the April edition of the monthly jobs report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said it well:

"The number of people filing for unemployment benefits has declined to the lowest level in more than four decades. Private employers have added jobs for seven straight years. The share of people working part-time rather than full-time for economic reasons has fallen. Even the participation rate, the measure of those working or looking for jobs, has been stable after falling to lows not seen since the 1970s."
